The death of a hero
A hero is an overused term. We call people heroes way too much nowadays. But some people actually are heroes and one of those few was Stina Oscarsson.
In 2018, Stina Oscarsson was the chief librarian at Hornstulls Library. A panel debate was scheduled for the occasion where she invited someone the media called a Fascist to talk. The person that was scheduled to talk became ill so another person took his place that was considered even more of a fascist at that time. The name of that individual was Patrik Forsén. I must start off by saying that I don´t think any of the people invited there were actual fascists, but were considered so by the establishment due to their nationalistic leanings.
She was pressed to cancel the debate but stood her ground and as the leader for the library she took tremendous criticism for this. The argument was something along the line of: “Well free speech are for everyone but not for Fascists!” Many people will think that the title of hero for Stina Oscarsson may be a bit too much… People that think so doesn´t have the full picture of the situation.
Between the years of 2003-2019 were the most politically correct years in Sweden. The Reinfeldt years between 2006 and 2014 was a large contributing factor and the fact that what we now call “woke” was being born.
In 2018 things were still pretty bad and as the executive at a library in one of Swedens most politically correct areas, namely Hornstull in Stockholm, you can bet that she really stuck out her neck!
The debate in itself went well but the aftermath led to her being attacked very harshly and called a “Nazi-defender”. Stina’s position was that everyone should voice their opinion, and the best antidote to harmful ideas was to attack them in a debate and not attack the people propagating those beliefs.
This did not went down well with the politically correct cultural elite of Sweden who accused her of being hateful and problematic.
To make a long story short, she actually survived the outrage, which is rare in Sweden, very rare…
I believe that what made her career survive were both her tremendous integrity, high intelligence, and a morale that blinded the evil people who persecuted her. In blinding, I mean that figuratively. Their own agenda bounced off of her and hit them instead…
Sadly, though, Stina fought an enemy that was invincible for her, and that enemy was the horrible mental illness known as anorexia. She eventually died from that condition in the easter weekend. I actually almost wanted to cry when I read the news in my countryhouse near Nyköping.
I will remember Stina forever as a role model for democracy and free speech.
She never wavered under criticism. She always stood by her convictions. She was a paragon of integrity.
Rest in peace Stina!
About Stina Oskarsson I will say the following: She was brave enough to make an interview with me- Agneta Norberg-Women for Peace- on 28th of December 2018. A photographer was also with her and made several photoshots of me. This interview was planned to be published in Svenska Dagbladet she informed. In the interview I was telling about the numerous US/Natos warexercises in the North of Swedenwhich had been ongoing for several years.I also told about Israel training of drones before sending the into Gaza. The trainingarea is called: North European Aerospace Testrange, large as Belgium in size. In January 2019 she mailed me and informed that the editor in chief at SvD had forbidden this article to be printed. She was very sad for that. But an eloge to Stina Oskarsson who dared to say something about the US long time using our landmass as a training ground for their planned war on Russia.
